This is a new DVD flavor that is called "multi-arch". This flavor is very useful to end users, since it includes support for multiple architectures (i386, amd64 and powerpc), and has the ability to automaticaly detect and use the most appropiate for the users' computer. This helps a lot weed out confusion arising from doubts such as:
- Does my PC support 64-bit mode?
- Does my Mac have an intel or powerpc cpu?
- I have a 64-bit PC. Do I want amd64 or ia64?
